Boarding Pass Retrieval Closed

Southwest Airlines has asked us to stop the operations of our boarding pass retrieval service for their airline based on their new terms and conditions for usage of their site.

We are complying with their request immediately and will no longer be providing boarding pass retrieval services for Southwest Airlines customers.

The Pass-a-matic team would like to thank you for your support and giving us the opportunity to serve you. We hope to bring you other travel support services in the future and will be back in touch when we do so.

We're covered on webware.com + Southwest's new boarding procedures

http://www.webware.com - home of cool web 2.0 apps for everyone covered us today.

Thanks to Rafe Needleman for the coverage. He has always been an astute commentator on the technology world (and we aren't just saying that because of his writeup!)

We do disagree on the desirability of Southwest's boarding model. Overall, we at Travel-a-matic are great fans of the airline and their staff. Our service is only helping those who are so busy in their lives that they often forget to get their boarding passes when they can.

Our goal is that the services we offer make travel a better experience for the frequent traveller.

We are already receiving a flood of new requests to join the private beta. Please be patient as we allow new people in on a daily basis making sure that everything is operating as planned.

Southwest's new boarding procedures being rolled out across the country might cause some hiccups and we want to make sure we are providing good service as they make the transition over the next two months.

A great resource

We are going to start covering other internet based resources today - all with the goal of improving your travel life.

The first one is http://www.flyertalk.com which has both a great set of discussion forums and a blog with the latest in good deals.

The beta phase is free. We will be charging for the service after launch but those participating in the beta will receive a promotional membership offer in thanks for helping us make sure everything is working.

If you would like to participate, please go to to http://www.passamatic.com and join up.

We are allowing people in as we test all aspects of the site.

What is a Travela?

So what the heck is a Travela? (besides saying "traveller" with any of a large set of accents including all sorts of British accents, Bostonian, New York, New Jersey, etc).

Simply, the life of a 'traveler' is filled with small and big annoyances that make you go "rrrrrrrrrr!" as the frustration builds.

The life of a 'Travela' is filled with nothing but smooth travel experiences that make you go "ahhhhh!"

Our goal is to provide little improvements in your travel life so your travel sees more "ahhhh's" than "rrrrrr's"

Our icon for Travel-a-matic was designed to show this "ahhh" travel lifestyle showing a person moving forward with purpose, without bumps in the road, and having everything they need to travel well.

Welcome!

Welcome to the official company blog of Travel-a-matic: Your personal online travel assistant.

We believe that everyone should travel first class and everyone should have a personal travel assistant. There isn't much we can do about getting you first class tickets but we can help with a personal assistant.

We at Travel-A-Matic have paid the price as road warriors. Many of us have had personal assistants in our careers. Our assistants found ways to lighten our load and make frequent travel just that bit more bearable. However, most people can’t afford a personal assistant. We formed Travel-A-Matic to provide you with an internet-based assistant who takes care of many of those small tasks that add up to a better travel experience all for a small monthly fee.

In the coming months we will announce new services in the Travel-a-matic family.

So stay tuned!
